You can download and try out Excel Leave Planner for free. The only difference to the full version is that the automatically generated trial license will only run for 30 days and a maximum of 30 employees can be tracked. If you wish to buy the calendar after the trial period, no reinstallation is necessary. You will receive a license number with which you can unlock the previously installed version.
Download the setup and save it first on your computer/notebook before you start the installation. Do not run the setup directly from the website.
You can put the Excel file on a network drive (or SharePoint, Dropbox, OneDrive etc.) so that all users have access to it. However, the software must be installed on each computer from which the calendar is to be used.
Excel leave planner also works via a terminal server or citrix.

This is the recommended installation method.
Requires administration privileges for the installation. Installs the leave planner for all users from this PC/Notebook. (If you download the zip, first extract it)
Does not require administration privileges, as long as the basic requirements are met.
During installation you will be asked to confirm the DeltaVision certificates. See also the installation instructions.
This version is only for users who also wish to use the leave planner, but do not have admin rights and the computer meets the basic requirements. (Unzip the zip-file and then double-click the exe).

You will also find tips for installation and configuration, if a lot of employees work with the calendar and they will not all have the same rights.
The templates are also included in the setup. Notice the names of the templates:
Type A = planning on whole days
Type B = planning on half days
12 = max. 12 leave types
24 = max. 24 leave types
Information for IT administrators
The leave planner is programmed in C# .net (VSTO) and requires the .Net framework 4.6.2 or higher. However, this is already included by default in Windows 8 and higher.
